Sharpie on Dry Erase board

Ok, so I got this nice big white board for the boys to draw and write on, nice mom right? Well, my youngest got ahold of a Sharpie pen and after drawing on the walls and furniture he scribbled all over the white board. I wanted to cry but I found a way to get the white board clean at least.

Take a dry erase pen and scribble over the sharpie markings then wipe it off and the sharpie marks will be gone!

Now make sure all Sharpie pens are kept on the top shelves!

Growing up too fast...

My oldest started 1st grade...might not sound like an earth shattering occurance but it has been to me. As a woman who thought she would never be blessed enough to have children, I am having a hard time letting go. He is getting so independent. I am reminded of a poem...

A Son is a son tell he takes a wife
A Daughter is a daughter the rest of her life...

I do want my boys to be strong and able to stand on their own...I just want them to need me a little longer...is that too much to ask?

Lungs...

I don't know about the rest of the world but for the most part I haven't given my lungs much thought. They kept me breathing, that was good enough for me. As I now enter into multiple CT Scans for I guess the rest of my life unless something major happens I think about them more and more. These unsung heros of our anatomy. We punish them in our youth and if that one day comes when they just don't seam to be able to take anymore we have the balls to curse them. I guess I have not been a very good friend to my lungs. I can only hope to be able to watch my boys grow up instead of paying the ultimate price.
